Triangles cut from scalloped tea cloth napkins shape the center flower of this heirloom Christening Quilt. The triangles, including four with embroidered baskets of flowers, form the edge of a center square of white flowers printed on white cotton cloth. The hand-quilted center flower is repeated along the outside square to finish the triangle into a square. The zigzag edge is squares of fine handkerchief cotton folded into triangles. I love this detail. The finished quilt is smaller than usual making it ideal as a Christening Quilt. Diagonal squares and straight lines are the hand quilted finish to this sophisticated quilt.
